IN BETWEEN
“In Between” is a self-portrait family project.
In 2009, I was sitting on the front seat of a van, tight in between my parents.
I had a strong and clear sensation that it was like if I was still a child in between them, even if I was already thirty years old.
That was the first picture. The first picture in my mind of what I interiorly lived lifelong.
In January 2010 I started to take photographs of me in between my parents with a view camera.
“In Between” is a work about the relation between parents and children, about how parents’ lives and parents’ relationship influences the growth, the life and the personality of the children.
I am telling a private story, in an autobiographical approach as if it could be a catharsis, but that is also a universal experience that concerns every human being.
