TIME TABLES
Several years ago, my grandfather having aged 95 years, passed away.
Rummaging through his vineyard cellars, I found some amazing objects, suspended in the misty moment of a life remembered. I was struck by the simple beauty and strength of these handmade antiques.
In their mechanical and pure forms and essential structure they appeared to me as the mirror of integrity, authenticity and poetry of a life lived in harmony with earth and primary values of life.
“Time Tables” are a glance to the past century, that return to consciousness by way of the agrarian mundane and the necessary, of these XX century tools for daily life and work in the fields; for today much as it was at the dawn of the 20th century.
These simple house hold necessaries are as windows to memory, to an unrepeatable past, that tie me back to my family origins and remind me where I come from and what is full of significance to me and guide me on my path through life.
